WATERLOO - Lorraine Tuttle, 85, of Waterloo, died Saturday, July 9, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home.

She was born July 13, 1926, in Ashland, Wis., daughter of William and Anna Sturm Melvold. She married George J. Tuttle June 15, 1946, in Ashland. He died March 14, 2003.

Mrs. Tuttle received her associate's degree in interior design from Hawkeye Tech in 1970. She worked at J.C. Penney Co. and Simpson Furniture until 1973. She and her husband sold at the Waterloo Farmers Market.
Lorraine was very involved with crafts and often sold at craft shows. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Ruth Circle, Senior Group, Tabitha Quilters and Order of Eastern Star 128.

Survived by two sons, James of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., and Earl J. (Mary) of Rice, Minn.; five grandchildren, Carol (Tim) Andreassen, Kristin (Chuck) Thomas, Angie Tuttle, Michael Tuttle and Nicole (Donato) Gemmati; and nine great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Viola Herbsleb and Eleanor Bruness; and a brother, Wilfred Melvold.

Services: 10 a.m. Saturday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Locke Funeral Home, with an Order of Eastern Star service at 7 p.m.

Memorials may be directed to the church at 420 Harwood Ave., Waterloo 50701.
