WATERLOO - Vern Lauber, 73, of Waterloo, died Friday, July 8, at Parkview Nursing and Rehab Center of natural causes.

He was born Aug. 16, 1937, in Sibley, son of Earl H. and Marie Norman Lauber. He married Sandi Schneider July 26, 1980.

He graduated from Cedar Falls High School in 1955. Mr. Lauber was a salesman for 45 years for Standard Battery and Electric which became Parts Plus Auto Parts, retiring in 2001.

Survived by his wife; a son, Steve (Leanne) of Ames; a daughter, Linda Brown Lindsoe of Prior Lake, Minn.; five grandchildren; and a sister, Marlene (Butch) Dismore of Waukon.

Celebration of life: 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 7, at 517 Home Park Blvd., Waterloo. His body was cremated.
