HUDSON - Edward F. Brandhorst, 84, of Hudson, died Friday, Aug. 10, at his home.

He was born Feb. 14, 1923, in Hudson, son of Edd A. and Maria Andorf Brandhorst. He married Alice Marie Gutknecht Dec. 19, 1943, at Zion Lutheran Church. She preceded him in death Feb. 13, 1998.

He graduated from Hudson High School in 1941 and farmed for many years in the Hudson area, retiring in 1986.

Survived by two daughters, Kathleen (Robert) Yuska and Eileen (Joseph) McKenna, both of Hudson; five grandchildren, Deaven Yuska, Mark (Becky) Yuska, Nathan (Jen) Mckenna, Lisa (Clint) DeBuhr and Jason McKenna; six great-grandchildren, Ava and Ali Yuska, Mikayla, Madison and Macey McKenna and Tate DeBuhr; three sisters-in-law, Donna (Jerry) Dufel, Thelma Gutknecht and Margaret Brandhorst; and a brother-in-law, Leonard Bauer.

Preceded in death by his wife; his parents; two brothers, Carl and Donald; and a sister, Eleanor Christiansen.

Services: 10 a.m. Tuesday at Zion Lutheran Church, with burial in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, both in rural Hudson. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, Cedar Falls.

Memorials may be directed to Zion Lutheran Cemetery perpetual care fund.
