FUNERAL SERVICES ARE HELD FRIDAY
FOR SARAH HUFF, 106

Funeral services for Sarah Huff, 106, or Waverly, were held Friday, March 5, 1993 at First Baptist Church in Waverly. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery, Cedar Falls.

Mrs. Huff passed away Wednesday at Bartels Lutheran Home in Waverly, where she was the oldest resident, and one of Iowa's oldest residents.

She was born in Danville, Pennsylvania on December 15, 1886 to John and Rebecca Tanner. The family headed west in a covered wagon and settled on a farm at Sheldon. She had seventeen brothers and sisters who helped on the family farm and in a general store the family operated.

On November 20, 1906, she was married to Eddie Yockstick. They had two children, Dorothy and Edward. They farmed in the Hudson, Cedar Galls, Shellrock and Denver areas before settling near Waverly. Mr. Yockstick passed away in 1955. She then married William Hoth in 1956 and he passed away in 1958. She was then married to Oscar Huff in 1960 and he passed away in 1976.

Her son, Edward, was a Hudson resident for many years when he and his wife owned and operated the Phillips 66 gas station.

She is survived by nine grandchildren, including Mrs. Gary (Shari) Downey of Hudson; thirty seven great-grandchildren, forty four great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.
