EVANSDALE - Ivan R. "Ike" Stanford Jr., 57, of Evansdale, died Monday, July 4, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo.

He was born April 30, 1954, in Waterloo, son of Ivan R. Sr. and Gladys Postel Stanford. He married Shelly Hahn on Jan. 27, 1973, in Waterloo.

Mr. Stanford graduated from Waterloo East High School.

Survived by his wife; a son, Matthew "Bubba" (Nickie) of La Porte City; two daughters, Renee (Ryan) Christoffer of Waterloo and Tera Martin of Evansdale; six grandchildren; his mother of Waterloo; a brother, John Sr. (Kathy) of Waterloo; and two sisters, Connie (Jim) Abben and Susan (Robert) Mitchell, both of Evansdale.

Preceded in death by his father.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Trinity Episcopal Church, with inurnment at a later date. Visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, Waterloo, and for an hour before services Friday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Ike had a love of softball, grandkids and family. He was very involved with the Waterloo Softball Association Men's League, both as a coach and a player. He was inducted into the Waterloo Softball Association Hall of Fame and the Evansdale Youth Softball Association Hall of Fame.
