CEDAR FALLS - Kermit K. "Chris" Andersen, 58, of Cedar Falls, died Sunday, July 3, at Sartori Memorial Hospital.

He was born May 20, 1953, in Waterloo, son of Earl E. "Andy" and Helen Schaefer Andersen. He married Janice Hammerschmidt on July 5, 1985, in St. Louis, and they later divorced.

Mr. Andersen graduated from Cedar Falls High School in 1971 and from the University of Iowa in 1978 with a bachelor's degree in computer science. He was a self-employed computer consultant.

Survived by a son, Brett (Stephanie) of Ballwin, Mo.; and a brother, Richard (Mercy) of Cedar Falls.

Preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Allen; and a sister, Mary Morford.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Richardson Funeral Home, preceded by an hour of visitation, with inurnment in Greenwood Cemetery at a later day.

Memorials may be directed to Donate Life of America or the Boy Scouts of America, Winnebago Council.
