WATERLOO, Iowa - Phyllis F. Shock, 86, of Waterloo, died Sunday, June 12, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo.

She was born July 21, 1924, in rural Butler County, Iowa, daughter of Ralph and Carrie Pagel Poppen. She married Raymond Frank Shock on Dec. 21, 1957, in Waterloo. He died Dec. 4, 1998.

Mrs. Shock worked in the housekeeping department at the Twin Torch Inn Motel for 11 years and was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church.

Survived by a son, Steven R. of Waterloo; and a sister, Gladys Ray of Granite City, Ill.

Preceded in death by three sisters, Clara Aissen, Lucille Endelman and Myrtle Dean; and six brothers, Robert, Earl, Raymond, Glen, Virgil and Leland Poppen.

Services: 10 a.m. Wednesday at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and for an hour before services Wednesday at the funeral home.
