WATERLOO - Leslie R. Heidemann, 81, of Baltimore, formerly of Waterloo, Evansdale and Red Lion, Penn., died Thursday, June 9, at Stella Maris Hospice in Towson, Md.

He was born Nov. 2, 1929, in Waterloo, son of Louis and Meta Rohrssen Heidemann. He married Margaret "Peggy" Miller June 21, 1953, in Waterloo. She preceded him in death.

Mr. Heidemann was employed by C.W. Shirey's for 25 years before retiring and moving to Pennsylvania. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during the Korean Conflict.

Survived by a daughter, Cynthia A. Watkins of Baltimore; a sister, Melba Tate of Harligen, Texas; two grandchildren, Aaron and Bryan McMullen of Pennsylvania; and four great-grandchildren, Kaylie, Sierra, Chance, and Josh McMullen.

Preceded in death by three brothers, Irwin, Louis and Milton; a sister, Anna Leisinger; and a son-in-law, Norman Watkins.

Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Garden View Chapel Funeral Home, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, and for an hour before services Wednesday at the funeral home. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the Waterloo AMVETS Post 19, Evansdale AMVETS Post 31 and Iowa Army National Guard Honors Detail.
