CEDAR FALLS - Christine Birdsall, 94, of Cedar Falls, died Friday, June 10, at Western Home Communities Martin Center.

She was born Feb. 25, 1917, in Morristown, Tenn., daughter of Claude W. and Laura Byrd Travis. She married Marvin E. Thayer in Wichita, Kan. He died in 1972. She married John J. Birdsall June 26, 1998, in Cedar Falls, He died Nov. 21, 2006.

She was a homemaker throughout her adult life.

Survived by a daughter, Sharon Thayer of Cedar Falls; six grandsons, Cornell, Scott, Tony and Tyler Long, Travis Thayer and Kevin Thomas; and several great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by a daughter, Sue Long; a son, Keith Thayer; a granddaughter, Jennifer Thomas; and two sisters, Mae Downey and Lucile Crawford.

Memorial services: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Western Home Chapel, with inurnment before services in Fairview Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Public visitation will be held for an hour before services Wednesday at the chapel.
