Adam Michael Burke, 20, passed away on May 28, 2011, as the result of an automobile accident. Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, New Albin. The Rev. Daniel Knipper will officiate at the service. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the New Albin Community Center, New Albin, where a Scripture service will be held at 8 p.m. The Thornburg-DeVries Funeral Home, Prairie du Chien, Wis., is in charge of arrangements.

Adam was born March 29, 1991, in Waterloo. He attended Hawkeye Community College, Waterloo, in the graphics design program. He worked as a Work Comp Patient Care Coordinator at VGM, Waterloo. Adam enjoyed being with friends, taking road trips, singing, kayaking, tubing, swimming and a good laugh.

He is survived by his parents, Greg and Jenny Burke of Waterloo and Toni and Roger Bakewell of New Albin; a brother, Austin Burke; sisters, Brittany and Brooklyn Bakewell; and a stepsister, Angie.

He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents.

Rollover crash kills man near Iowa-Minnesota border

NEW ALBIN – One person was killed in a rollover crash Saturday morning in Allamakee County, authorities said.

Adam M. Burke, 20, of New Albin, was killed in the accident along County Road A26, about two miles west of New Albin, the Iowa State Patrol reported Tuesday. The single-vehicle accident was reported around 7:50 a.m.
