WATERLOO - Geoffery Alan Dunkelberg, 48, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, May 24, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home.

He was born Jan. 2, 1963, in Charles City, son of George A. and Nancy B. Rogers Dunkelberg. He married Donna Boenig in October 1986 in Falon, Nev., and they later divorced.

Mr. Dunkelberg served in the U.S. Navy from 1981 to 1992 in the Persian Gulf. He worked in maintenance at DC Industries, Waterloo.

Survived by three sons, Keith (Maryele) and Trevor (Alicia) Boenig, both of Waterloo, and Ronald (Courteney) Boenig of Decorah; six grandchildren; his parents of Cedar Falls; a sister, Jeanne (Rob) Bolgenau of St. Louis, Mo.; and a longtime Navy survivor, Rick (Brandy) Weiner of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Lawrence and Jeanette Rogers; paternal grandparents, Floyd and Caleste Dunkelberg; and two cousins, Brian and Brenda McKee.

Memorial services: 1:30 p.m. Friday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof funeral Home, Cedar Falls, preceded by an hour of visitation, with inurnment in Hillside Cemetery, Cedar Falls.

Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice.
