CEDAR FALLS - Avonne R. Larson, 96, of Cedar Falls, died Sunday, May 15, at Western Home Communities Stanard Family Assisted Living Center.

She was born Aug. 7, 1914, in Kanawha, daughter of Leonard and Tillie Tesdahl Evans. She married Marshall A. Larson on June 23, 1934, in Tama. He died April 25, 1993.

Mrs. Larson and her husband farmed near Kanawha and later in Thompson. Prior to moving to Cedar Falls, she operated the Java Center Restaurant, Thompson. She was a member of Nazareth Evangelical Lutheran Church, Cedar Falls.

Survived by a daughter, LaRue (Merv) Hilpipre of Cedar Falls; a son, Steve (Ruth) of Milledgeville, Ga.; a half brother and half sister, both of Medford, Ore.; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by a son, Marvin; two grandsons; and three sisters, Lolis Street, Joy Jones and Pat Williams.

Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Nazareth Evangelical Lutheran Church, Cedar Falls, with burial in Norway Township Cemetery, Kanawha. Visitation from 5 to 7:30 p.m. today at Richardson Funeral Service and for an hour before services Wednesday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the church or Christian Crusaders.
