WATERLOO - Victoria "Miss Vic" Sheppard, 86, of Waterloo, died May 11 at Covenant Medical Center of natural causes.

She was born March 8, 1925, in New Orleans, daughter of Ezekiel Palfrey and Alice Bates. She married Willie Clayton and he preceded her in death. She then married Ray Sheppard on Oct. 7, 1952. He died in 1977.

Mrs. Sheppard was formerly employed at Black Hawk County Care Facility as a cook; at UNI as a custodian; and at Holiday Inn-Cedar Falls as supervisor of housekeeping. She was a member of the Mother's Board.

Survived by three daughters, Mary Alice (Walter) Wilson of New Orleans, and Ethel Sallis and Diane Linton, both of Waterloo; two sons, Raymond (Nadine) of Houston and Clint of Jackson, Miss.; 17 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 30 great-great-grandchildren; 20 great-great-great-grandchildren; three great-great-great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Alma Germine of Waterloo; and two brothers, Joseph Daniels and Clarence Bannister, both of New Orleans.

Preceded in death by a son, Roy; five brothers, Gabriel, Mino, George, Lewis and Teddy; two sisters, Henrietta Harris and Alice Williams; a great-grandson, Richard; and two sons-in-law, Leroy Linton and Norman Sallis.

Services: 1 p.m. Friday at Payne Memorial AME Church, with burial in Garden of Memories. Visitation from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at Sanders Funeral Service.

Memorials may be directed to the family at 428 Argyle St., where they will receive friends.
