WATERLOO - Lorraine P. Denton, 92, of Waterloo, died Monday, May 9, at Western Home Martin Health Care Center, Cedar Falls.

She was born Dec. 6, 1918, in Chicago, daughter of Ray and Nellie Breda Grover. She married William E. Denton on July 30, 1944, in Peru, Ind.

Mrs. Denton graduated from high school in Frederika. She worked in the office at the J.C. Penney Co., Waterloo, for 35 years, retiring in 1984. She also was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran.

Survived by a son, William "Bill" of Waterloo; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Vivian Hagedorn of New Hampton and Fern Oman of Cedar Falls.

Preceded in death by a brother, Elton Grover.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel, Waterloo, with burial in Alcock Cemetery, rural Frederika. Full military honors will be accorded by Waterloo AMVETS Post 19 and Evansdale AMVETS Post 31. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday and an hour before services Friday at the funeral home.
