CEDAR FALLS - Robert L. Abbas, 66, of Cedar Falls, died Friday, May 6, at Cedar Falls Health Care Center.

He was born April 3, 1945, in Mason City, son of George and Alice Thompson Abbas. He married Pamela Van Laere on Sept. 1, 1967, at Kanawha, and they later divorced.

Mr. Abbas received his bachelor's degree from the University of Northern Iowa and his master's degree from Mankato State University. He was director of Community Development for the city of Cedar Falls for many years, and later was a car salesman in the Cedar Falls area.

Music was a big part of Bob's life.

Survived by a daughter, Leah (Ramsay) MacMillan, of Chapel Hill, N.C.; a grandson, Drake; and his twin brother, Tom (Becky) of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by a daughter, Erika Abbas; his parents; and a brother, David.

Graveside Services: 1 p.m. Wednesday at Greenwood Cemetery, preceded by an hour of visitation at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home.
