WATERLOO - Stephen Francis Gehrke, 66, of Waterloo, died Saturday, May 7, at Covenant Medical Center.

He was born Aug. 2, 1944, in Oelwein, son of James Francis and Velma Greenough Gehrke. He married Glenda Nichols on Jan. 11, 1963, in Waterloo.

Mr. Gehrke was employed with John Deere for 35 years, retiring in 1998.

Survived by his wife of Evansdale; three sons, Timothy (Debby) of Broken Arrow, Okla,, Thomas (Jessica) of Johnston and Theodore of Evansdale; a daughter, Tamara (Kevin) Dill of St. Louis; 12 grandchildren, Chett Gehrke, Chadd Gehrke, Alexandria Dill, Lauren Gehrke, Nathan Gehrke, Kyler Dill, Jacob Gehrke, Noah Gehrke, Jonah Gehrke, Garrett Gehrke, Rachel Gehrke and Elijah Gehrke; and two brothers, William of Evansdale and James of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by his parents.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Cedar Valley Community Church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, and for an hour before services Wednesday at the church.
