WATERLOO - Rex D. Fagle, 99, of Waterloo, died Sunday, May 8, at the Affinity Home.

He was born Nov. 13, 1911, in Springville, son of William Perry and Sarah Brown Fagle. He married Viola Morton on May 27, 1938, in Independence. She died July 9, 2004.

Mr. Fagle was employed with Wendell Fenton DX for 33 years, retiring in 1972. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the Pacific theater during World War II and also was active with the National Guard throughout his life.

Survived by two sons, Michael of Waterloo and Jerry (Ann) of Bettendorf; a daughter, Jeanne (Martin) Johnson of Grundy Center; five grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Myron of Marion.

Preceded in death by five brothers, Loring, John, Wesley, Davillo and Clinton Fagle; and three sisters, Thelma Wilkinson, Margaret Hallet and Doris Neilson.

Graveside Services 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Mount Hope Cemetery, Independence, with military rites by the Iowa Army National Guard. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway.
