WATERLOO - Roy C. Reeves, 80, of Ames, formerly of Waterloo, died Thursday, May 5, at The Waterford in Ames.

He was born April 25, 1931, in Toledo, son of Lewis and Olive Conrad Reeves. He married Luella Hendershot July 3, 1951. She died April 17, 2010.

He graduated from Dysart Geneseo High School in 1950. Mr. Reeves was a maintenance supervisor at Rath Packing Co. and Sears. He served in the U.S. Naval Reserve.

Survived by a daughter, Melissa (Jim) Wickerath of Nevada; a granddaughter, Danielle Edwards; a brother, Louis of Sherrard, Ill.; and five sisters, Fern Brubaker, Pearl McKinley and Rosiva Swanson, all of Traer, and Georgia Eibey and Jean Randall, both of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by five sisters, Eva Reeves, Grace McKinley, Mary McKinley, Fanny Reeves and Rosezella Reeves; and a brother, Russell.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at Locke Funeral Home, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery with full military rites by Waterloo AMVET Post 19 and Evansdale AMVET Post 31. Public visitation from 3 to 6 p.m. today at Locke Funeral Home.
