WATERLOO - Elizabeth "Jackie" Holmes Moffett, 52, of Waterloo, died Thursday, April 28, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, of natural causes.

She was born Aug. 19, 1958, in Gulfport, Miss., daughter of Iverson H. and Dorothy Rein Brown Holmes. She married Larry Moffett, and they later separated.

Ms. Moffett graduated from Pass Christian High School, Pass Christian, Miss., in 1976, and attended Phillips Junior College, Gulfport, Miss. She was self-employed in the child care industry. She was a former member of New Zion Baptist Church, Waterloo.

Survived by a son, Jeffery of Waterloo; three daughters, Alisha and Jessica Moffett and Belinda Lara, all of Waterloo; five grandchildren; three brothers, James Lee Holmes of Long Beach, Miss., Iverson H. Holmes III of Waterloo and the Rev. Larry Holmes of Gulfport; four sisters, Patricia Parker and Pamela Holmes Bateaste, both of Gulfport, and Paula Horn and Dorothy Parker, both of Long Beach; and significant other, Tony Cordes of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by her parents; and a son, Dameon Holmes.

Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at New Beginnings First Wesleyan Church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Greer Funeral Home and for an hour before services Wednesday at the church.
