EVANSDALE - Harriett Katharin Mueller Schake, 93, formerly of Evansdale, died Friday, April 29, at Ravenwood Nursing & Rehab Center, Waterloo, of natural causes.

She was born March 19, 1918, in Waterloo, daughter of Maximillian and Mary Phillips Mueller. She married Clifford E. Schake on July 1, 1936, in Galena, Ill. He died Aug. 8, 1999.

Mrs. Schake graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1936. She was primarily a homemaker but had worked as the secretary for Evansdale Water Works and had served as a police matron in Evansdale while her husband was chief of police. She was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Evansdale.

Harriett was a private person who enjoyed reading. She collected dolls that she made clothes for and then dressed. She especially loved spending time with her husband and her family.

Survived by a son, Jack (Sharon) of Waterloo; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by a son, Ronald; a brother, Robert Mueller; and three sisters, Esther Trotter, Virginia Flin and Ruth Henry.

Services: 10 a.m. Thursday at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Evansdale, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo. Visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, Waterloo. Please note correct time of service.
