WATERLOO - Sarah G. Steege, 99, of Waterloo, died Sunday, April 3, at Rosewood Estate of natural causes.

She was born Jan. 23, 1912, in Earlville, Ill., daughter of Walter R. and Edith D. Ranstead LaBee. She married Lorenz "Joe" Steege on May 2, 1931, in Waterloo. He died March 29, 1999.

Mrs. Steege was a homemaker and a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Survived by three daughters, Marilyn (Bill) Rugg of Marion, Nancy E. (Dean) Fontana of Mesa, Ariz., and Linda L. Lillis of Walla Walla, Wash.; a son, Dwight (Nancy) of Hamilton, Ohio; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by a brother and two sisters

Services: 11 a.m. Saturday at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation for an hour before services Saturday at the church. Locke Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to the church.
