Jean E. DeBeer, 74, of Cedar Falls, died Monday, September 11, 2006, at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls. Jean was born September 4, 1932 at Oskaloosa, Iowa, the daughter of Herman & Anna (Stouwie) Bohlen.

She married Harold DeBeer November 5, 1954 at Stout, Iowa. Jean was a cook for the Cedar Falls Community School District for 19 years retiring in 1996. She was a member of Cedar Heights Woman’s Club and the Christian Woman’s Club in Parkersburg.

Survivors include her husband, Harold DeBeer of Cedar Falls; one son, Alan (Tammi) DeBeer of Cedar Falls; two daughters, Beth (Dan) Sachau of Mankato, Minnesota and Carol (Bill) Camden of Burnsville, Minnesota; five grandchildren, Brittney DeBeer, Johnathan & Madeline Sachau, and Luke & Christopher Camden; two brothers, Melvin Bohlen of Allison, Iowa and Marvin Bohlen of Clarksville, Iowa and one sister, Martha (Lester) Johnson of Aplington.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Oren Bohlen.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at Orchard Hill Reformed Church with burial at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home and for one hour prior to service time at the church on Friday. Memorials may be directed to the church, Cedar Falls Bible Conference, or the donor’s choice.
