James Timmerman, 72, went to be with his Lord, Friday, April 22, 2011, at Bright Kavanagh Hospice, Des Moines. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 28, at Waterloo Memorial Park Chapel, 3430 W. 4th St., Waterloo, with burial following. A visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Thursday.

Jim was born April 14, 1939, in Waterloo, to Elmer and Dorothy Timmerman. He worked for 30 years at RR Donnelly, retiring in 1995. Following that he worked at Wesley Acres for several years.

He enjoyed tinkering in his garage. His greatest loves were his two grandchildren.

Jim is survived by his daughter, Pamela Perry of Des Moines; his sons, Jeff Timmerman of Menlo and Mark Timmerman of West Des Moines; his sisters, Julie Frey of Dike and Susan (John) Lund of Waterloo; his two grandsons, Matthew Scott Perry and Steven Andrew Perry; a niece; and a nephew.
