CEDAR FALLS - Howard R. Rogers, 87, of Cedar Falls, died Sunday, April 24, at Western Home Communities Elizabeth E. Martin Health Center.

He was born April 19, 1924, in Cedar Falls, son of Bert and Lydia Donath Rogers. He married Charlotte Griffith on Feb. 8, 1946, in Waterloo.

He served in the U.S. Army Air Force in the European theater during World War II. He was employed with Chamberlain Manufacturing for more than 43 years, retiring in 1986.

Survived by his wife; two daughters, Roberta of Waterloo and Linda (Ronnie) Oltrogge of Ackley; three grandchildren, Mike (Holly) Oltrogge, Stacy (Billy) Scott and Jesse (Lindsey) Oltrogge; three great-grandchildren, Hanah, Jeanene and Kenna Scott; and a brother, Gerald (Joan) Rogers of Texas.

Preceded in death by seven siblings, Donald, Hugh, Donath, Francis, Mildred, Genevieve and Stanley; and a cousin, Lawrence Rogers.

Services: 2 p.m. Wednesday at Richardson Funeral Home, with burial in Fairview Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Military honors will be conducted by Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49. Public visitation will be held for an hour before services Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice or Western Home Communities Martin Health Center.
