Dorothy "Doe" Lucille Limbrecht was born on January 29, 1923 in Sac City, IA, the daughter of Clyde and Ethel (Hayden) Highland. After graduating from Sac City High School, she attended National Business School in Sioux City, IA. She moved to Washington D.C., where, during World War II, she worked in the Office of Investigations. While returning back to DC on the train with her twin brother, she met Raymond Limbrecht, a Marine from Iowa. The two fell in love and were married on September 24, 1944 in Sac City. After Ray's discharge, they settled in Waterloo where Ray founded and operated for many years the Garden of Memories Cemeteries and Chapel of Memories Funeral Homes. Eventually, Ray travelled to South America where he established cemetery operations in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil; Caracas, Venezuela; and Bogata and Barranquilla, Colombia.

Doe was deeply devoted to her family, and centered her life's activities around them. She also enjoyed traveling extensively with Ray throughout their lives.

Survivors include 4 daughters; Marlys (Rex) Blake of Waukon, Marlene (Richard) Hanft and Marla Limbrecht, both of Waterloo, and Marcie (Jeffrey) Gren of Auburn, NE; and a son, Raymond "Marco" Limbrecht of Orlando, FL. There are 9 grandchildren; Holly Holthaus, Luther Blake, Brian, Eric, Jason, and Tyler Hanft, Steven Silguero, and Megan and Justin Gren; 9 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Alberta Highland of Sac City, IA; and a cousin, Forest Johnson of Mechanicsville, IA.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Raymond, who died in 1985; 2 brothers, Norman (Alberta), and her twin, Donald, and a sister, Maurine (Elmer) Schnirring.

The family is suggesting memorials be given to the Good Samaritan Home in Waukon, Iowa.
