WATERLOO - Eva June Boots, 96, of Waterloo, died Friday, April 22, at Friendship Village.
She was born June 13, 1914, in Traer, daughter of Louis and Vaneta Smith Markham. She married John L. Boots May 25, 1935, in Rockford, Ill. He died Aug. 14, 1993.
She graduated from Traer High School. She was past-president of Waterloo Police Auxiliary, 40-year member of King's Daughters, member of the Kit 'n Kaboodle Band and the Molderettes and volunteered at Covenant Medical Center.
Survived by two sons, John (Norma) of Tampa, Fla., and Wayne (Linda) of Waterloo; four grandchildren, Laurie Colwell of Barnstable, Mass., Mary (Rick) Lescher of Tallahassee, Fla., Paul (Brenda) Valdez of Ocean Springs, Mich., and Michael (Purnima, MD) Valdez, MD of Durham, N.C.; and eight great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by a sister, Yvonne Markham.
Services: will take place at a later date with burial in Hampton Cemetery. Locke Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
