CEDAR FALLS - Gloria Ann Marie Evenson, 78, of Cedar Falls, died at home Tuesday, April 19.

She was born Feb. 18, 1933, in Williams, daughter of Alyoisis and Johanna Morhfeld Holtkamp. She married Wayne R. Evenson on Sept. 8, 1956, in Williams. He died Oct. 14, 1989.

Mrs. Evenson graduated from Williams High School in 1951 and from Mercy Hospital Nursing School, Dubuque. She was employed as a nurse with Goodwill Industry and Covenant Hospital and was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church.

Survived by three sons, David of Cedar Falls, Matt (Christine) of Fairbanks, Alaska, and John (Sarah) of Oshkosh, Wis.; two daughters, Beth (Bill) Phillips and Amy (Douglas) Fredericks, both of Iowa City; eight grandchildren; four brothers, Richard Holtkamp of Omaha, Ark., Larry (Janet) Holtkamp of Dows, Dan (Pam) Holtkamp of Newton and Jerry (Jan) Holtkamp of Williams; and four sisters, Laverna Larson of Ames, Corrine (John) Kelly of Waterloo, Becky (George) Tjaden of Iowa Falls and Mary Lou (Don) Dailey of Mitchell, S.D.

Preceded in death by a brother, James Holtkamp.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Richardson Funeral Home, where there will be a 4 p.m. rosary and 6:30 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also an hour before services Monday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the church or Hartman Reserve Nature Center.
