WATERLOO - Gary Lee Morford, 68, of Waterloo, died Thursday, April 14, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics of natural causes.

He was born July 22, 1943, in Cedar Falls, son of John H. and Lillian Lund Morford. He married Jacinta Fidel Jan. 30, 1971, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls.

He graduated from Cedar Falls High School in 1960 and joined the U.S. Marines, serving during the Vietnam War. Following discharge he attended Hawkeye Tech in Waterloo and Airline Mechanic School in Kansas. Mr. Morford was employed at Clay Manufacturing and Cedar Falls postal service as a letter carrier.

Survived by his wife; his stepmother, Betty Rote of Waterloo; three sisters, Juanita L. Morford of Bellevue, Neb., Michelle (Stephen) Salazar of Hawthorne, Calif., and MariJean (Stephen) Allen of Monticello; and two half brothers, Dan Rote of Waterloo and Steve (Claudia) Rote.

Preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Robert Allen; and his stepmother, Alice Mary Morford.

Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Parrott and Wood Chapel of Memories, Waterloo, with burial at a later date. Public visitation from 9 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home, with a rosary before services. Military rites by Waterloo Amvets Post 19 and Evansdale Amvets Post 31.
