WATERLOO - Bruce G. Timmerman, 71, of Waterloo, died at home Tuesday, April 12, of cancer.

He was born Aug. 20, 1939, in Evansdale, son of Paul and Emilie Wunder Timmerman. He married Sandra DuBois on Aug. 6, 1961, in Waterloo.

Mr. Timmerman graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1957 and from Wartburg College, Waverly, in 1966, with a bachelor's degree in education with an emphasis in industrial psychology and biology. He worked at John Deere for 34 years, including the foundry, industrial relations, management and as a supervisor, retiring in 1991. He then taught CNC programming and blueprint reading at Hawkeye and Calmar community colleges. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, where he was a former executive director.

Survived by his wife; two sons, Brett (Tammy) Waterloo and Jon (Laura) of North Carolina; two daughters, Leigh Ann (Scott) Lyons of Waterloo and Pamela Timmerman of Rochester, Minn.; eight grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and a brother, Paul (Donna) of Evansdale.

Preceded in death by a brother, Fred; and four sisters, Elta Weeks, Adella Molloy, Ephene Timmerman and Marlys Eickenberry.

Services: 10 a.m. Saturday at Grace Lutheran Church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Locke Funeral Home.

Memorials may be directed to the church or Cedar Valley Hospice.
