CEDAR FALLS - Elton Edgar Wagoner, 94, of Cedar Falls, died Sunday, April 3, at Sartori Memorial Hospital of natural causes.

He was born May 1, 1916, in Floyd County, son of Clarence Edgar and Muriel Chloe Noah Wagoner. He married June Creagan on May 2, 1941, in Waterloo. She died March 7, 2001.

Mr. Wagoner was part owner of Wagoner Brothers Building Co., Cedar Falls and Waterloo, where he was a carpenter and accountant, retiring in the late 1960s.

Survived by a sister, Sue (Bill) Hotzel of Denver; and nephews and nieces, Lane Wagoner, Gail Fitzgerald, Chris Sweet, Neil Sweet and Amanda Hotzel.

Preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Lyle.

Elton was a Christian and was a member of Walnut Ridge Baptist Church. He liked fishing, especially at Mille Lacs Lake in Minnesota. He also loved animals, especially his cats and dogs that he adopted as strays.

Services: 11 a.m. Saturday at Walnut Ridge Baptist Church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery, both in Waterloo. Visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball, Waterloo, and for an hour before services Saturday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to Walnut Ridge Baptist Church or Cedar Valley Humane Society.
