WALTON, LENT, SPERRING, FURNEAUX, HUBBELL

CEDAR FALLS - Franklin E. "Frank" Walton, 99, of Cedar Falls, died Tuesday, March 22, at home.

He was born July 19, 1911, in Manson, son of John Beadle Walton and Illah B. Lent Walton. He married Edna Sperring on June 15, 1947, in Manson. She died Sept. 10, 1990.

He was an auto mechanic at various service stations in Manson, Knierim and Alta. He operated a D-X gas station and garage in Plover and was co-owner and operator of H & W Repair in Rolfe. He retired from Rost Motors in Manson, where he was a mechanic for many years.

Survived by a son, Eugene of Minneapolis; two daughters, Fayeth Elaine (Tom Furneaux) of Cedar Falls and Carman Hubbell of Plover; seven grandchildren, Cindy (Bob) Johnson, Bill (Sarah) Hubbell, Eric (Teresa) Hubbell, Kirk (Katie) Hubbell, Brendan and Molly Kendrick-Walton and Eugenia (Jason) Ferneaux-Arends; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by four sisters, Inez, Ella Jane, Myrtle and Imogene; a brother, John; and a son-in-law, Ed Hubbell.

Frank was open and accepting of people from all walks of life, religions and backgrounds.

Celebration of life 3 p.m. Saturday at Richardson Funeral Home, Cedar Falls. Public visitation will be held for an hour before services Saturday at the funeral home. Further services will be conducted in August in Plover.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
