WATERLOO - Arthur Holsey Wise, 67, of Waterloo, died Thursday, March 24, at Allen Hospital of natural causes.

He was born July 6, 1943, in Paris, Ark., son of Andrew and Mae Carter Wise. He married Henrietta Griffith in Tacoma, Wash. She died in December 1986.

He was employed at John Deere for 30 years. Mr. Wise served in the U.S. Army.

Survived by a daughter, DeeVonda (Kendrick) of Waterloo; two sisters, Mae Lou Scott of Waterloo and Judy Marie (Wilfred) Bridges of San Antonio; and two brothers, Marion Douglas (Rubye) of Paris, Ark., and Hardy Lee (Kimberly) of Buffalo, N.Y.

Preceded in death by three brothers, Alvin, Elvert and David.

Services 11 a.m. Tuesday at Union Baptist Church, with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Full military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post 138 and VFW Post 1623. Public visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the church, and for an hour before services Tuesday at the church. Sanders Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to 180 Ryter Rd. in Waterloo, where they will be receiving friends.
