WATERLOO - Warren W. Albertsen, 79, of Waterloo, died Thursday, March 24, at Covenant Medical Center.

He was born Dec. 13, 1931, in Mapleton, son of Paul and Ella Bendixen Albertsen. He married Maureen Curran April 29, 1972, in Waterloo.

Mr. Albertsen was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Air Force. He was a computer engineer with IBM for 34 years.

Survived by his wife; two granddaughters, Lori (Tom) Harvey and Christine (Ryan) Mullen; and four great-grandchildren, Craig and Hannah Harvey and Faith and Cody Mullen.

Preceded in death by a stepson, Craig Curran.

Services 11 a.m. Monday at Trinity American Lutheran Church, with burial in Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery, where military rites will be conducted by Evansdale Amvets Post 31, Waterloo Amvets Post 19 and the Iowa Army Honor Guard. Public visitation from 3 to 7 p.m. today at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway and for an hour before services Monday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the church or Christian Crusaders.
