WATERLOO - Arlene M. Tullis, 89, of Waterloo, died Friday, March 18, at Windsor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born Dec. 19, 1921, in Waterloo, daughter of Herbert and Eva Nash Claus. She married Virgil D. Tullis July 11, 1945, in Minneapolis. He died Jan. 12, 1987.

She graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1938. She was a sales clerk at Braley's and the Victorian Room, and a senior companion at Friendship Village.

Survived by three sons, Rick (Nancy) Heacock of Cedar Rapids, Steve (Gerri) of Waterloo and Tim (Candy) of Waterloo; a daughter, Julie Whitehead of Waterloo; a stepson, Jimmy of Florida; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; a brother, Roger Claus of Kansas City; and a sister, Thelma Burke of Spokane, Wash.

Preceded in death by an infant son; a stepdaughter, Nancy; two sisters, Lenore Wilder and Mary Smoldt; and a brother, Herb Jr.

Services 11 a.m. Wednesday at Walnut Ridge Baptist Church, with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Locke Funeral Home.

Memorials may be directed to Walnut Ridge Baptist Church.
