CEDAR FALLS — Vernon "Skip" Anderson, 63, of Bondurant, died at home Friday, March 11.

He was born Feb. 15, 1948, son of Hank and Shirley Anderson. He married Carrie Anderson on June 12, 1970.

Mr. Anderson graduated from Cedar Falls High School in 1966 and went to the University of Northern Iowa, where he participated in basketball and track. After graduating, he went on to be a graduate assistant and coach the freshman basketball team. He was a teacher and coach at Harris-Lake Park and Rockwell City-Lytton Community schools and served as an administrator at Perry and Ackley-Geneva schools. He retired from Bondurant-Farrar Schools in 2009, where he served as secondary principal for 11 years.

Survived by his wife; two daughters, Amy (Dana) Scheidegger and Jennifer Kasiar; a son, Ben (Jill); six grandchildren, Aaron, Ethan, Carson, Max, Mya and Gracie Mae; his parents; three sisters, Kathi (Ron) Thompson, Jan (Jack) Landy and Pam (Scott) Petersen; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services 11 a.m. Wednesday at Bondurant High School, with burial at a later date. Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the high school. Ankeny Funeral Home and Crematory, (515) 964-4674, is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Central Iowa or University of Northern Iowa Panthers of the Past.
