WATERLOO — Dale C. Elliott, 92, of Waterloo, died Saturday, March 5, at Country View care center.

He was born Aug. 7, 1918, in Waterloo, son of Clinton and Loretta Patterson Elliott. He married Iris Tuttle on June 8, 1939, in Waterloo. She died Nov. 9, 1990.

Dale was employed with John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works as a supervisor for 33 years, retiring in 1980. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army Air Corps.

Survivors include his children, Timothy Elliott of Waterloo, Susan (Francis X) O'Donnell of Naples, Fla., and Burr Ridge, Ill., Debra (James) Rice of Willowbrook, Ill., and Scott (Ruth) Elliott of Waterloo; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.

Preceded in death by his wife; an infant son, Dennis Dale Elliott; two brothers, Harry and Harold; and three sisters, Opal, Cecile and Lila.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Central Christian Church, with burial in Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery, where full military rites will be conducted by Evansdale AMVETS Post 31, Waterloo AMVETS Post 19 and the Iowa Army Honor Guard. Public visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, and at the church for an hour before services on Thursday.

Dale was very active in the Red Cross Volunteer Disaster Relief Team, the Melodeers, the John Deere Supervisors' Club, American Legion and Waterloo Auxiliary Police.

Memorials may be directed to Central Christian Church Building Fund.
