WASHBURN - Carolyn Jean Haley, 72, of Washburn, died Friday, March 4, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home of cancer.

She was born March 16, 1938, in Waterloo, daughter of Earl and Maybeth Lyon Dickinson. She married John Haley Aug.14, 1960, at Walnut Street Baptist Church in Waterloo.

She graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1956. She ran Carolyn's Bridal Service out of her basement for 15 years, and was a medical assistant in La Porte City for 13 years, retiring in 2007.

Survived by her husband; her mother; a daughter, Crystal (Andrew) Jones of Waverly; a son, Darren (Carolyn) of Tripoli; five grandchildren, Alicia, Noelle, Chloe, Jake and Grace; a great-grandson, Corbin; and a brother, Tommy (Marty) Dickinson of Girard, Ohio.

Preceded in death by her father.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Walnut Ridge Baptist Church, with burial in Garden of Memories. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, and for an hour before services Tuesday at the church.

Carolyn loved to spend time with her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
