WATERLOO - Elizabeth Ann Hooper Scott, 63, of Las Vegas, formerly of Waterloo, died Jan. 15, in Las Vegas of natural causes.

She was born Feb. 4, 1948, in Waterloo, daughter of Joseph W. Hooper and Sarah Oceola Reed. She married Jaime E. Scott in January 1974 in Waterloo. They later divorced.

She graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1967. She received a bachelor's degree in art education at the University of Northern Iowa in 1972. She joined the Sisterhood of Delta Sigma. She received her master's degree in developmental reading from the University of Missouri in Kansas City in 1987. She was a school teacher for 35 years.

Survived by a daughter, Tandalaya Scott (Arnaldo) Gaytan of Las Vegas; a son, Bryson (Shentel) Scott of Fayetteville, N.C.; five sisters, Lula Mallett of Coralville, Alice Stevens and Viola (Silas) Gary, all of Waterloo, Lillie Scott of Las Vegas and Ruth (Otis) Davis of Aurora, Colo.; a brother, Rick Hooper of Milwaukee, Wis.; and a sister-in-law, Delores Hooper of Wilwaukee, Wis.

Preceded in death by two brothers, James and Joseph Jr. Hooper; and three sisters, Virginia Graves, Christine Hooper and Corrine Burt.

Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Union Missionary Baptist Church, with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Public visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the church, and for an hour before services Wednesday at the church. Sanders Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to the family at 1437 Vine St., Waterloo, where they will be receiving friends.
