WATERLOO - Dorene Elizabeth Anderson, 96, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, Feb. 15, at Ravenwood Nursing & Rehab Center of natural causes.

She was born Nov. 25, 1914, in Swea City, daughter of Ernest and Grace Trego Linde. She married Mell Alvin Anderson Oct. 7, 1935. He died Sept. 28, 1972.

She worked in laundry at Allen Hospital, retiring in 1977. She was a homemaker.

Survived by two daughters, Janice (Don) Barnett of Clemmons, N.C., and Martha "Marty" Wylie of Evansdale; three grandchildren, Belinda (Trent) Pontow of Jacksonville, Fla., Alan (Bonnie) Barnett of Clemmons, N.C., and Wendy (Bob) Wright of Burke, Va.; four great-grandchildren, Erich and Piper Pontow, and Alexander and Stephanie Wright.

Preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Grace Anderson; a sister, Mildred Cogburn; a brother, Roger Linde; and a son-in-law, Ronald Wylie.

Services: 10 a.m. Monday at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Washburn, with burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories

Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice or Redeemer Lutheran Church in Washburn.

Dorene enjoyed crocheting, hand crafts, sewing, canning and traveling. She was a wonderful cook, avid baker, dedicated to her church and loved reading the Bible.
