WATERLOO - Garrott LeRoy Faulkner, 86, of Mesa, Ariz., formerly of Waterloo, died Friday, Feb. 4, in Mesa.

He was born April 1, 1924, in Webster City, son of Glen and Jessie Hill Faulkner. He married Jeree Taber on June 2, 1946, in Waterloo.

Mr. Faulkner graduated from Washington High School, Webster City, and served in the U.S. Army Medical Corps during World War II. He worked for John Deere & Co. for 33 years, retiring in 1983. He lived and farmed on an acreage in rural Parkersburg for many years and later moved to Waterloo. He also played steel guitar and drums in a band at the Independence Senior Center, for his church and charitable organizations.

Survived by his wife; two daughters, Scarlett D. (Douglas) Ohde of Grand Lake, Colo., and Rebecca A. (Charles) Kemmerer of Mesa; a grandchild, Heather (Zachary) Warakomski, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; four sisters, Gleneva Ades and Velma Hollingshead, both of Webster City, Mable (Gary) Pond and Sharon Apfel, both of Waterloo; and a sister-in-law, Hilda Faulkner of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by two brothers, Merlyn and Larry.

Services: 10 a.m. Friday at Nazareth Lutheran Church, Cedar Falls, with burial in Garden of Memories, Waterloo. Military honors will be conducted by Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49. Visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, Cedar Falls, and for an hour before services Friday at the church.
