EAGLE CENTER - James Leo "Jim" Pierce was born May 11, 1928, in rural Eagle Center. He attended school in Eagle Center and graduated from Hudson High School in 1945. Jim attended the University of Northern Iowa for two years.

He leaves behind three daughters, Jacqueline (Ralph) Hodson, Jill (Marsau) Ford and Jayne (Grant) Ferguson; and seven grandchildren, Dr. William Marsau, Cash Hodson, Clayton Hodson, Clinton Hodson, Cody Hodson, Levi Ferguson and Dawson Ferguson.

Family members include brother, Don Pierce, and sisters, Jan (Joe) Bruns, Marcella (Cletus) Schmit and Alice (Larry) Barr. He was preceded in death by parents, Al and Mary (Reuter) Pierce; a sister, Eileen (Leo) Shares; and a brother, Ray Pierce.

Jim died Jan. 18, 2011, in Blossom, Texas.

Memorial services 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 29, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Eagle Center, with family visitation from 9 a.m. until services. A noon luncheon will be held at the church.
