WATERLOO — Dennis "Ole" Olson, 64, of Delhi, formerly of Waterloo and Hudson, died at home at Lake Delhi on Wednesday, Jan. 19, after a long illness.

He was born June 5, 1946, in West Union, son of Lyle Olson and Genevieve Peters Olson. He married Lea Diane McCulley on May 24, 1969, in Hudson, and they later divorced. He then married Doreen Dee Walitshek on May 27, 1987, in Searcy, Ark.

Mr. Olson graduated from Valley of Elgin High School, Clermont, in 1965 and attended Hawkeye Community College. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam conflict and was employed at John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works as a machinist, retiring in 1999.

Survived by: his wife; a daughter, Jennifer (Andrew) McCall of West Des Moines; a son, Dustin of Grundy Center; his stepmother, Eileene Olson of Clermont; and three half brothers, Mike, Randy (Kim) and Tim (Connie) Olson, all of Clermont.

Celebration of Life gathering: 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at White Funeral Home, Jesup, where the family will receive friends.
