WATERLOO - Enjoli Yvette Spates, 31, of Waterloo, died Friday, Jan. 14, at Allen Hospital of natural causes.

She was born March 18, 1979, in Waterloo, daughter of John Alex Spates and Patricia Ann Wise.

She was employed at Dollar General, John Deere and Walmart. She attended Kaplan College.

Survived by her parents; her maternal grandmother, Ernestine Wise of Waterloo; her fiance, Demarius Plain of Waterloo; a son, Jayontae Gates; two daughters, DeAhjanae Plain and Demarriea Plain; a brother, Douglas Spates of Waterloo; and five sisters, Donna (Daniel) Claybon, Santrice Wise (Darren Kimbrough), Toni (Jym Martin), Stephanie (Darren Martin) and Marta Spates, all of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by her grandfather, John E. Wise; and paternal grandparents, John T. and Annie Bell Spates.

Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Union Missionary Baptist Church, with private family-directed burial. Public visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the church, and for an hour before services Wednesday at the church.

Memorials: may be directed to the family at 614 Keystone St. Waterloo, IA 50704, where they will be receiving friends.
