WATERLOO - Dale Albert Brunson, 75, of Waterloo, died Saturday, Jan. 1, at Mercy Medical Center, Dubuque, of natural causes.

He was born Dec. 4, 1935, in Charles City, son of Glen and Alta Locke Brunson. On April 9, 1966, he married Carol Ames in Waterloo.

Mr. Brunson served in the Iowa Army National Guard Company B 133rd Infantry. He worked at Clay Equipment setting up presses, and also worked in public works for the city of Cedar Falls for many years, retiring in 2000. For the past eight years, he and his wife delivered bundles for the Waterloo Courier.

Survived by: his wife; three daughters, Kristina (Lloyd) Beard of Rickardsville, and Roxanne Voschell and Lisa Brunson, both of Dike; a son, Gregory (Steffanie) of Evansdale; four grandchildren, Daniel, Brandon and Kenneth Beard and Hailey Brunson; a sister, Mary Thompson of Waterloo; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by: a brother, Roy; a sister, Donna Devoogd; and a son, David.

Services: 10 a.m. Wednesday at Concordia Lutheran Church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Graveside military rites will be conducted by Becker-Chapman American Legion Post 138. Public visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, and for an hour before services Wednesday at the church.

Dale enjoyed camping, bike riding, fishing and watching sports, especially the Minnesota Vikings. Most of all, Dale loved spending time with his family. He was a loving man and was always there with open arms with hugs and kisses. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
