BRANDON — Larry J. Bowers, 73, of Marshalltown, formerly of the Brandon and La Porte City areas, died Sunday, Jan. 2, at Iowa Veterans Home, Marshalltown.

He was born Oct. 28, 1937, in Waterloo, son of James C. and Laura Marsch Bowers.

Mr. Bowers attended Brandon schools and served in the U.S. Army. He was employed as an over-the-road truck driver with several companies, the most recent being Talbert Trucking, Sioux City.

Survived by: three sisters, Bonnie Krull of Cedar Rapids, Barbara Kiler of Brandon and Janice Dewitt of La Porte City.

Graveside services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Dunkerton Cemetery, Dunkerton. Public visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Reiff Funeral Home & Crematory, Independence.
