RAYMOND - Milo F. Russell, 82, of Raymond, died Friday, Dec. 31, 2010, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo, of natural causes.

He was born April 13, 1928, son of Charles French Russell and Florence L. Knight Russell. On Aug. 6, 1949, he married Anita Margaret Conrad at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Raymond.

Mr. Russell graduated from Schurz High School, Chicago, in 1946, and served in the U.S. Army from 1952 to 1954. He was a design engineer and worked for John Deere, Precision Tool & Die and Waterloo Industries before retiring in 1989. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Raymond, and of Nugent-Demuth American Legion Post 714 in Gilbertville.

Survived by: his wife; three sons, Steven (Pam) of Independence, Michael (Kathy) of Elk Run Heights and Timothy (Jamie) of Fresno, Calif.; a daughter, Julie (Ron) Protsman of Dewar; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a special uncle, Levern E. Knight of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by: his parents; and a great-grandson, Johnny Weston Jenkins.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Raymond, with burial in the church cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by Nugent-Demuth American Legion Post 714 of Gilbertville. Public visitation from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at White Funeral Home, Jesup, where there will be a 4 p.m. parish rosary and a 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also an hour before services Wednesday at the church.

Memorials: may be directed to the family.

Milo enjoyed being with family, roller skating, wood carving and restoring classic cars.
