EVANSDALE - Alfred F. Frahm, 91, of Evansdale, died Wednesday, Dec. 29, at Allen Hospital, Waterloo.

He was born April 4, 1919, in Waterloo, son of Herman H. and Amanda Plaster Frahm. He married June M. Culver on Dec. 22, 1943, in Reno, Nev.

Mr. Frahm worked as a tool and die maker for John Deere & Co. for 32 years, retiring in 1981. He was a World War II Navy veteran and a Pearl Harbor survivor. He also was a charter member and a life member of Evansdale AMVETS Post 31, and was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Evansdale.

Survived by: his wife; a son, Donald (Judy) of Dunkerton; two daughters, Lynette Riley of Waterloo and Paula (Willard "Joe") Ratchford Jr. of Augusta, Kan.; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Dorothy Petersen, Darlene Vogt and Grace Massina, all of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers-in-law, Frank Massina and George Petersen.

Services 11 a.m. Monday at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Evansdale, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo, with full military honors by Evansdale AMVETS Post 31 and Waterloo AMVETS Post 19. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel, Waterloo, and for an hour before services Monday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Our country is in mourning, for a soldier died today.
