WATERLOO — Donald L. Claney, 80, of Waterloo, died Monday, Dec. 27, at Denver Sunset Home, Denver, from complications of Parkinson's disease.

He was born Oct. 28, 1930, in Clarence, son of Warren and Dorothy Koch Claney. He married Geraldine Hein at St. John's Lutheran Church, Bennington Township, on Dec. 24, 1951.

Mr. Claney graduated from Clarence High School, then attended Buena Vista College and Gates Business College. He worked for the Waterloo Post Office for 25 years, retiring in 1992, and was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War.

Survived by: his wife; three sons, Brian (Ann) of Cedar Rapids, Jon (Oreng) of Salem, Ore., and Steve of Lovilia; a daughter, Elizabeth (Mark) Dungan of Des Moines; and nine grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: twin grandchildren.

Services: 1:30 p.m. Friday at First Lutheran Church, with burial in St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Locke Funeral Home.
