57-YEAR RESIDENT
OF WATERLOO DIES

Funeral Tuesday afternoon for Mrs.
O. A. Maiming; Six Children Survive

Mrs. Orville A. Manning, 66, resident of Waterloo for 57 years, died at 11:15 a.m. Sunday at her home, 1313 Jefferson Street of diabetes and complications.

Amanda Jeannette Bixby was born September 22, 1860, in Underhill, Vermont. When she was 9 years of age she came to Waterloo with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. L. Bixby, pioneer settlers in Waterloo.

She was united in marriage on December 15, 1880 to O. A. Manning.

She was a member of Graves Memorial United Brethren Church and was a member of the Women's Relief corps.

Surviving besides her husband, are the following children. P.O. Manning, Mrs. C. J. Ness, R. A. Manning and Hazel Manning, all of Waterloo. Four grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters also survive: L. J. Bixby, A. A. Bixby, C. D. Bixby and Arch Bixby, Clear Lake, South Dakota; and Ross Bixby, West Liberty, Iowa.

Two children, Mrs. O. O. Lawrence and Lee A. Manning, preceded her in death.

Brief prayer services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the O'Keefe & Towne Chapel, followed by services in Graves Memorial Church at 2:30 p.m.; Reverend E. W. Main, pastor officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood.
