LISA JANE (SOGARD) TATE

WATERLOO - Lisa Jane (Sogard) Tate, 37, died Sunday (Feb. 24, 2002) at home following an heroic battle with cancer.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. John's American Lutheran Church Center, 715 College St., Cedar Falls.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, 12th and Hudson, Cedar Falls.

Lisa was born on April, 21, 1964, to Margie (Torkelson) and Kenneth Sogard in Ames. She graduated from Ames High School in 1982.

Lisa was united in marriage to Bill Tate on Aug. 5, 1988. They were blessed with three beautiful daughters, Jessica, 12, Jasmine, 10, and Jenna, 5.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Bill; her daughters, Jessica, Jasmine and Jenna of Waterloo; her mother, Margie Hinderaker and her husband, Rich; her sisters and their husbands, Carla and Bill Hatten and LouAnn and John Norlan; nieces and nephews, Mark and Amy Hatten, Chad and Ryan Norlan, all of Ames, and Heather and Jeff Stickler; great niece Sunne of Des Moines; and her grandmother, Othelia Torkelson of Forest City Good Samaritan Center.

In addition Lisa is survived by two aunts, Bernice Voelker of Charles City, and Marsha Brunsvold of Forest City; eight uncles, Roger Sogard of Jewel, Louis Sogard of Iowa Falls, Clarence Torkelson of Albert Lea, Carroll Torkelson of Fertile, Ronald, Leslie, Roger and Wayne Torkelson, all of Forest City; and numerous other relatives living in North Iowa.

Lisa was preceded in death by her father, Kenny; her grandmother and grandfather Sogard; and her grand father Torkelson.
